Lodge # 13 Sisseton  Lake Area Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #13 was chartered in December of 1999 at Webster, SD. The Lodge was organized initially with members of Law Enforcement from Day County, but soon the Lodge expanded to include Day, Marshall, and Roberts counties. The Lodge is made up of Law Enforcement Officers from the Day County Sheriff's Office, the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, the Roberts County Sheriff's Office, the Webster Police Dept., the Waubay Police Dept., the Sisseton Police Dept., the Sisseton-Wahpeton Sioux Tribal Police Dept., the Bureau of Indian Affairs Criminal Investigation unit, the South Dakota Highway Patrol, the South Dakota Game, Fish, and Parks, the South Dakota Department of Corrections, and the South Dakota Court Services Offices.

One of the primary focuses of Lake Area Lodge is to provide an annual scholarship award to a graduating High School senior from our Lodge area. In past years we have given out a number of scholarships each year in the amount of $500 each. Starting in 2004 the scholarship program is being changed and dedicated. Our $1000 yearly scholarship will now be known as the "SKYMAN REDDAY, JR. MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP" in memory of the son of one of our members. Brother Skyman Redday lost his entire family to a drunk driver on August 23rd, 2003. Little Skyman was tragically killed along with his mother, 3 siblings, and an uncle. Little Skyman was only 6 years old but wanted to be a cop like his dad. It is with a profound sense of honor that we dedicate this scholarship to Little Skyman.

Lodge #13 contributes to a number of charities and organizations in our area. We support D.A.R.E., the Special Olympics, the South Dakota Torch Run, numerous local charitable fund raising efforts, area Post Prom activities, local Farm and Home Shows, the Waubay Fire Department Jaws for Life program, area Youth Programs, and many other worthwhile efforts.

Law Enforcement Officers belonging to our Lodge are lucky enough to live in the beautiful Glacial Lakes area of South Dakota. The many lakes and wetlands of this area offer abundant hunting, fishing, and camping opportunities. It is really a wonderful area to live and the members of our Lodge invite all of you to come and see us in Northeast South Dakota. For more information about our Lodge or the Glacial Lakes area, please feel free to write us at 710 W. Second Street, Webster, SD 57274.

We are a non-profit organization and exist largely on donations from the public. We encourage everyone to contribute to our local fundraising efforts, and the efforts of other Lodges around the State of South Dakota. Our State Lodge is involved in raising contributions through the use of a telemarketing firm and a generous portion of those contributions are returned to the local lodges, so please give at the State level as well. Thanks.
